Matt Diederichs fails to understand that traffic lights serve the purpose of traffic safety, not traffic psychology, as he states in his letter (Gazette, Sept. 12) suggesting that the City of St. Albert has, "Lights, lights, and more lights to calm us all down."

May I suggest that if he wants calm, stress-free travel to work that he either move closer to his job, ride a bike, or take the bus.
