The city's transportation department really needs to rethink the double left lane turn lane going from Poirier to Sir Winston Churchill as nobody uses the left lane to turn thus making those of us trying to turn right wait for the light cycle to complete and then for all the vehicles in front of us to turn left.

As the road goes directly into a school zone you would think it would be much safer if cars entered single file instead of everyone jockeying for position in the school zone as it appears most people intend on turning right at Boudreau. Also if they really wanted to make traffic move better they would make that lane a right turn only lane.

As I travel this route several times a day it is most frustrating to sit behind vehicles turning left when there’s absolutely no one in the left lane. If the double left turn lane remains I hope the city puts a big planter in the left lane so I have something enjoyable to look at as I sit and wait.
