Thank you, Chris and Karleena Perry, for clearly articulating the flawed value system that has caused so much needless pain and alienation in our modern world.
No soft peddling here, just shoot from the hip and pander to the shallow mythology of amassing stuff and keeping the “unwashed masses” from contaminating our perfect little world. The addictive appeal of greed, class distinction and rampant materialism appears to be alive and well in St. Albert.
It is however, uncommon to read such a public defence of such flawed thinking. My hope is that upon reflection, an alternate vision might surface. One in which walls are replaced by bridges and prejudices dissolve into understanding. When it comes to the important values of life, it’s not what you have that’s important — it’s who you become.
