This letter is intended for the fine citizen who stole my 12-year-old son's skateboard from the front step on Wednesday night – a skateboard that took him five months of delivering flyers to be able to purchase.
Thank you for leaving his helmet and sliding gloves behind as an empty reminder of the fun he could be having. I'm not sure why you would be skulking around the front steps of peoples’ homes late at night in the first place, but if you find yourself doing it again soon, feel free to bring the skateboard back, and return it to the step from where you removed it. It would restore a 12-year-old's faith in the community that he loves.
The stolen skateboard is a Landyachtz Wolf Shark, with gold trucks, and purple wheels. Parents, if this unique board has suddenly appeared in your garage or basement – it does not belong there.
