The cost of going green

The City of St. Albert increased water rates for 2015 and established supplemental capital contributions to rub salt into the wound. Just watering our flowers during the dry summer doubled our normal water usage between May and September.

The City of St. Albert increased water rates for 2015 and established supplemental capital contributions to rub salt into the wound. Just watering our flowers during the dry summer doubled our normal water usage between May and September. To modernize our three bathrooms and reduce the water bill, we recently installed three low-flush toilets that use significantly less water.

It will only take about 15 years through reduced water expenditures to recover the cost of our investment, but we really like the look and efficient operation compared to the older vintage toilets. Happy New Year!
