The St. Albert Legion extends its gratitude and thanks to the extreme generosity of its citizens, businesses, clubs and organizations in the 2014 Poppy Campaign. Fundraising reached a new level of success, with more than $70,000 coming into the Poppy Fund. Thank you all for equipping this fund to assist veterans in need, and their dependents. Thank you for another year of support of our cadet groups, donations to hospital foundations, and bursaries for descendants of veterans.
Poppy sales this year more than matched our hopes and expectations. Participation in the Cenotaph Service Nov. 11 was great, both in attendee numbers and support. Poppies were beautifully visible. Remembrance of our veterans and support for them was poignant.
