A strong community looks after its members in need. St. Albert is definitely one of those communities. This past year, through the generous donations of businesses, individual donors, and volunteers, we were able to help over 1500 families in need, not only with food hampers, but help with a myriad of personal and other problems. For example, we provide financial literacy training, referral help with the many governmental agencies including social services and mental health and employment insurance, help in finding a job, help extended to the homeless and those needing assisting with housing, and many other matters.
Our donors have included youth groups collecting to help offset the cost of turkeys, neighbours creating stunning Christmas light displays, children collecting for the food bank instead of receiving birthday gifts. The schools, churches and service groups collected donations for us. What an outpouring of kindness we have seen, not only at Christmas but throughout the year and for that we are all so very grateful.
The Board and staff thank you, St. Albert, for your generosity and thoughtfulness.
