Thank you St Albert! We are a couple who lost everything in the Slave Lake fire earlier this year and found ourselves living in a fifth wheel at the Kinsmen RV Park in your fair city.
From the start we were amazed at all St Albert had to offer, from friendly people to miles of walking paths and a fantastic downtown. I was finding it difficult to obtain employment here but the staff at the local library were great and very helpful as was the human resources department for the city.
Your local Employment and Immigration department also took time out to meet me and point me in the right direction. I was also very appreciative of the management at Zellers for giving me the opportunity to work for them. What a great team. I was hired without having any retail experience or a permanent address. They took me under their wing and showed me the ropes.
The sense of belonging to something again was a godsend for me and I will never be able to repay that gift. I would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Zellers and especially Hussein, Alice, Shelley, Judy and Glen. You are special people who took the time to lend a hand when it was needed most.
To sum up, we just wanted to say thank you St. Albert for helping a couple that were just a little down on their luck.
