This letter is to the young lady with dark hair and black-framed glasses who, while driving a smaller car with a baby in the back seat at approximately 1 p.m. Monday afternoon, came to the corner of Northridge Drive and Giroux Road and almost ran over me and my dog.

Rather frightening for us both as we were already stepping into the marked crosswalk when you neglected to stop. The last time I checked, this is a full stop intersection and not a yield. As I hurriedly backed up, I happened to notice that you were too busy texting to pay any attention to where you were driving, let alone notice if there were any pedestrians nearby.

Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for you, your licence plate was dirty and I couldn't get the number. If I had, I would have reported you to the RCMP in hopes that it may make enough of an impression on you, to prevent an accident in the future whereby while you are texting while driving, you actually do hit a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.
