Taxpayers don't care

Spending tax money on more signs because it is in the budget is exactly the problem in St. Albert. The budget is too big. Government is run on a "spend or lose it" mentality. So in St. Albert, the council looks for ways to spend the money.

Spending tax money on more signs because it is in the budget is exactly the problem in St. Albert. The budget is too big. Government is run on a "spend or lose it" mentality. So in St. Albert, the council looks for ways to spend the money. Painting roads at $35,000 cost, and make bridges that are supposed to look like a yellow brick road (more grey than yellow).

Businesses in St. Albert are told they are not allowed to clutter St. Albert Trail or anywhere else in St. Albert with portable signs. Yet the council has put up more signs than ever before. Signs that say; stay back 30 metres. I still don't get that one.

Your taxes are going to go up significantly next year, but I guess the St. Albert taxpayer does not care.
