Recently I've noticed a lot of Confederate flags popping up around St. Albert, primarily attached to vehicles as licence plates, but I was both surprised and disgusted to see a large Confederate flag being flown from someone's house in front of their garage in Dorchester West.

Somehow this is allowed through free speech laws, yet I have a feeling if someone were to fly a Nazi Swastika it would be taken down immediately.

Why is an inherently racist symbol allowed to be flown from someone's house in St. Albert? It's banned in many places in the U.S. and should be banned here.
