After a school trip to the St. Albert food bank on March 22, a group of five 6th graders from École La Mission (in Heritage Lakes) were inspired. They decided to put together, on their very own initiative and independently of the school, a project to collect non-perishable food items during March break for the food bank. As they were collecting the food items left behind by the residents in the Lacombe Park neighbourhood (March 29), they realized that they had not thought of a way of thanking those who so generously donated; in retrospect, they concluded that it would have been nice to leave a thank you note in the mailboxes.
So to all those who contributed on Lancaster and Lafonde crescents, a very heartfelt thank you! Thank you for your generosity, and thank you for supporting the initiative and learning experience of these young people who very much appreciated all your donations.
