Strike a balance between progressive views and conservative ones

On Aug.

On Aug. 8, Brian McLeod wrote about the Trudeau government’s failure on green issues without ever mentioning the failure of every climate change-denying federal, provincial and municipal Tory politician and their total lack of policies or proposals to deal with climate change.

On Aug. 11, Ken Allred wrote about Canada minding its own business over the despicable human rights record of the medieval monarchy of Saudi Arabia as if human rights should never be mentioned by our government.

On Aug. 15, Chris Nelson wrote about the terrible NDP government support for small business craft breweries in Alberta without mentioning the reduction in the small business tax, which cost the rest of us millions.

On Aug. 18, Alan Murdoch wrote, criticizing the Trudeau government for having the temerity to stand up to the Saudi human rights neanderthal echoing Mr. Allred.

While I have no problem with these “Special” writers expressing their conservative ideology to the readers of the Gazette, I do expect the Gazette to seek out other articulate “Special to the Gazette” writers to present progressive viewpoints. After all, there are different points of view in St. Albert on these important issues.

The Gazette should assure all its readers not just those on the right of the political spectrum.
