Library? Is St. Albert the private playground for the mayor and council?
Wild spending continues for no good reason, other than to appease the whims of elected officials. The 2017 election plebiscite had 7,802 voters saying yes to further branch library planning, while 13,346 voted no. I am quite sure the current mayor and council are capable of wasting our tax dollars on something else.
Instead of spending, why not try holding the line on taxes and let other Alberta cities catch up to the obscene tax rates established here in St. Albert? Perhaps that would be no fun at city hall and way less personal prestige.
Proceeding with future library spending is pure arrogance and is an insult to democracy.
