St. Albertans should have a say when it comes to public art projects

Ugly ducklings. I apologize if some people find this offensive, but the new duck wheat art is incredibly ugly. It is embarrassing to have this as part of our city. It’s worse than Edmonton’s giant pile of shiny balls. I love St.

I love St. Albert and I love that we are a “Botanical Arts City”. If a giant piece of art is being installed at the centre of our city where everyone sees it daily, we should all have a say in what it is. Who was involved in this decision and why hasn’t anyone I’ve talked to known about this in advance?

People need to have an opportunity to be involved in decisions like this that affect how our city is perceived.

We don’t want to be the laughing “stalk” of our province. This eyesore needs to be removed, even if it takes taxpayer money to do it. Let’s instead plant a beautiful tree or bed of flowers for our “Botanical Arts City”.
