St. Albert truly cultivates life

I would like to thank the people who are keeping our roads and sidewalks clear. What a pleasure it is to be in St. Albert. We can count on the best-maintained wintertime roads in the region.

What a pleasure it is to be in St. Albert. We can count on the best-maintained wintertime roads in the region. I drive city streets that are unrecognizable behind high snow banks. Yet, compared with other cities, the people of St. Albert have less rutted roads I’m sure. I see countless people helping one another get vehicles un-stuck as well. A sprit of service is amongst us.

I would also like to thank everyone involved in the kick off to St. Albert’s 150th birthday. I especially enjoyed the Sunday afternoon interview with Father Lacombe. He jumped to life for me on this past cold, snowy Sunday.

Mass at St. Albert Parish brought tears to my eyes. My wife and I were in the very back row on the second level Sunday morning and it was packed to standing room only. Even from my last row vantage point, I was moved to tears a number of times during the mass and celebration. To all involved, thank you.

I witness a spirit here in St. Albert. We cultivate life. Then of course, we share the bounty. I thought our motto was a new phenomenon, but the spirit of service-to-all has been with us our entire journey as a small haven in a land now blessed with peace. May that spirit continue and grow with us and passed to our young so that at 300 years, our families plus more will still marvel.
