Some city ‘genius’ must put brakes on red-light fiasco

May I propose a new motto for our city. Edmonton has had “City of Champions.” Ours should be “Red Light Capital of the World.

May I propose a new motto for our city.

Edmonton has had “City of Champions.” Ours should be “Red Light Capital of the World.”

On at least two recent trips along Giroux Road/Boudreau Road from Northridge, I have hit the following lights red: Hogan Road, Dawson Road, Liberton Drive, St. Albert Trail, Inglewood Drive, Bellerose Drive. (The latter four within a distance of one kilometre.)

Continuing on through a number of lights, some green, some red, we come to Campbell Road – red. No sooner did that light turn green then, about 200 metres away, the light at Carnegie/Curial Drive turns red.

Surely some genius in some city department could figure this out.
