Soccer field in deplorable condition

On May 23 I attended a soccer match at the Gloucester Park pitch in St. Albert. The field conditions there are deplorable. There had obviously been an attempt to mow the dead grass (hay) but it was left in place or small stacks.

On May 23 I attended a soccer match at the Gloucester Park pitch in St. Albert. The field conditions there are deplorable. There had obviously been an attempt to mow the dead grass (hay) but it was left in place or small stacks.

During the game, play came to a standstill as a 10-foot dirt devil wound its way across the field, blowing dirt everywhere, forcing us all to shield our eyes. There are no marked lines outlining the boundaries, making it very difficult for the players, referees and linesmen.

Beyond all that however, is the condition of the field itself. There are no divots but actual moguls. How many broken bones by a missed step will it take for the city to remedy the situation? Come on St. Albert, you can do better.
