Slow down when driving through playground zones

Firstly, I would like to thank the drivers who use Forest Drive on a daily basis for adhering to the 30 km/h speed limit in the playground zone between Falstaff Avenue and Finch Crescent.

It is great to have people who are aware of this zone and drive accordingly. We have a high number of children in the Forest Lawn area so the 30 km/h speed limit is important to follow.

For those drivers who do not know, playground zones begin at 8:30 a.m. and go until one hour after sunset.

Secondly, I would like to remind the drivers who speed through this playground zone to please slow down and adhere to the 30 km/h zone. There is a busy crosswalk in the middle of the playground zone and there have been many close calls with pedestrians almost getting hit as some people are going too fast and they barely stop in time or do not stop at all.

I am writing this letter as a plea to remind the drivers who speed through this playground zone to slow down, especially now that winter is on the way. I would really hate to see an accident happen that might not only injure a pedestrian but might also cause emotional distress to the driver who may cause the accident.

Thank you so much.
