My goodness. Did an elected city councillor demand that residents stop emailing him? Did Bob Russell really tell the library board to stop the massive expression of support for a branch library? Did he honestly threaten that he would dock the library $100 for every email he received from residents? Doesn’t he represent these people? Didn’t he campaign as an elected official to represent the residents of St. Albert? And now he doesn’t want to hear from them?
What happened to the call for democratic feedback? Isn’t it his job to listen to these people? Isn’t that why he asked us to elect him? Do most people in St. Albert even understand that this is the man they elected less than a year ago, and how little respect he has for the input of the residents he claims to represent? I hope Coun. Russell can explain himself, a lot of us who voted for him are confused.
