Last night, my husband Ken and I had a bunch of friends over for dinner. Knowing that use of food banks in Alberta has gone up 23 per cent this year, we asked them to bring donations for the food bank. About one-third of those in need are children. Our friends sure came through! Thank you to Sam and Betty, Jerry and Pat, Dave and Val, Katherine and Jerry, and Pearl and Ron. We had a great evening together, good food, good company, and we talked about doing this each time we all get together in the future. The next day, I told my friend Shirley about what we did, and she made a contribution too.
I'm writing to ask people to consider sharing the bounty of their lives by making a donation of anything you can manage to the food bank, which needs personal care products (like shampoo) and paper products (like toilet paper) as well as all kinds of food items. Items can be dropped off at grocery stores or at the St. Albert Food Bank at 50 Bellerose Dr.
Merry Christmas to all in our community; may you always have food in your pantry. Linda Podlubny, St. Albert
