It is that time again when every politician will promise us the moon to get votes. The question really is how many of these lofty promises will actually be fulfilled.
The Liberals have another Red Book and we all remember how well they kept the promises from the first effort.
The NDP will improve pensions, but at what cost?
The Conservatives have demonstrated that they are not accountable to anyone including Parliament. Their idea is the status quo, which apparently means no accountability and failure to answer to Parliament or the Canadian people.
So what is the answer? Here is a suggestion — what if no one showed up to vote? Do you think that this demonstration by the people who put them in office would a send a message that we are totally fed up with all the election lies? This is our time to demonstrate our distrust for politicians and all the garbage they tell us prior to an election. How about one party making realistic election promises and actually carrying through on them?
When our local hopefuls come knocking at our front doors, challenge them to be honest and forthright. We are ultimately responsible for what kind of government representation we get.
