Police chipped in to help motorists

Like many others, I was very disappointed to hear of the citations, impoundment and charges issued to the Drs. Jon and Dave Cooper by our local RCMP officers.

Like many others, I was very disappointed to hear of the citations, impoundment and charges issued to the Drs. Jon and Dave Cooper by our local RCMP officers.

However I hope that we don't just focus on this one negative story because the extreme weather conditions in our area actually led to many positive interactions as people helped people up and down the streets.

For this reason I thought it only appropriate that I publicly acknowledge two St. Albert peace officers who saw me trying to dig my vehicle out of knee-high drifts in the driveway of my mother's condo building on Sunday afternoon. They said they noticed my situation as they passed by going the other direction, so came back to see if they could help. They shovelled and pushed and soon my car was back on the main roadway.

I would like to think the majority of our law enforcement officers would do the same. Thank you to these two kind officers for their help.
