Photo radar views shared

I wanted to comment on Mr. Bohachyk’s letter on ‘Photo radar not the best solution’ (Gazette, June 17) that so eloquently pointed out the vast majority of public views, explaining why there is an upheaval of public discontent.

I wanted to comment on Mr. Bohachyk’s letter on ‘Photo radar not the best solution’ (Gazette, June 17) that so eloquently pointed out the vast majority of public views, explaining why there is an upheaval of public discontent.

His views – (supported by traffic enforcement) together with the fact that the vast majority of people getting fined are anything but habitual speeders – makes it abundantly clear it is long past due that photo radar and the way it is being administered be reviewed. There may be a place for photo radar, but only (in my opinion) in a vastly different way than as it exists today.

This is hardly only a matter of ‘don't speed, no fine.’ Is it not worthy of consideration that the law of this country requires fair and just treatment of its citizens?
