In regards to photo radar stealing our money, I am fairly new to St. Albert, but I was not particularly surprised at the rate of our taxes when tax time came around.
How could I be when I looked it up before we ever bought our house? Irene Tremblay seems unable to accept responsibility for her actions. This is a sad condition that seems to afflict more and more of our citizens these days. All of the roads I have travelled, both within St. Albert and without, have come equipped with maximum speed signs. Was this not the case?
When you planned your move to St. Albert, did you not research how your money would be spent in regards to taxes? How do you imagine you would pay less in tax if there were enough police on the road to give you a personal ticket every time you contravened posted speed limits? Speed fines are not taxes. They are a deterrent to dangerous driving. Most people wish to avoid fines so they slow down (Most people, obviously not all people).
How unlucky that the exact amount you earmarked for charity is now going to pay for your own excesses. How unfortunate. Why don't you turn this around and provide a good example for your grandchildren? Take responsibility for your actions and pay your fines with good grace.
