In a previous write in June of 2014 about becoming a organ donor I feel you have left out an important point. People donate their organs so that all people may be able to benefit from such a program.
We had signed the back of our drivers licence to be organ donors but then tore up that pledge when at the time Premier Ralph Klein and the Conservative Party opted for the financial right of organ purchase to jump the Queue.
When a person makes a commitment to donate their organs they are expecting to help someone regardless of their personal status in life. If you believe that your life is that valuable to society based on your good fortune then sign over everything, asset means, plus any thing that you, family, friends, secret account and businesses would benefit from after receiving that transplant.
My lack of trust in people has marred my optioning to join the organ transplant program.
