Somehow the animal control bylaw that was under consideration last spring went from addressing loose and feral cat issues into additional restrictions on dogs.
It appears that reasoned and logical discussion is not an effective means of addressing the issue so we will turn to poetry:
Summer is here, the garden is planted;
Then cats appear and seedlings are flattened;
Fresh cut grass, birds a-flying;
Cat **** amasses, the birds are dying;
It was too good to be true!
Now what to do ... with all of this poo?
I know why the market is now in place;
For families like ours whose poop-filled garden is a disgrace.
If a dog's messes are not cleaned, you will be fined;
But not for the cats, as if we won't mind;
Surely someone can fix the bylaws of this city;
Otherwise our only resort is to trap your kitty!
