North end of St. Albert Trail an embarrassing mess

On Nov. 17, and definitely not the first time, I sat for 15 minutes trying to get from the lights by Costco gas bar to the Best Buy lights.

On Nov. 17, and definitely not the first time, I sat for 15 minutes trying to get from the lights by Costco gas bar to the Best Buy lights.

There were hundreds of vehicles on the trail, uh no Highway 2, trying to go south and then there were all the vehicles from the Erin Ridge retail area trying to get onto the trail. The co-ordination, uh LACK of light co-ordination, is an embarrassment to all of you!

On top of that you, council, passed an anti-idling bylaw. I would/should have been ticketed for the amount of time I sat there. Had I been ticketed you would have met me at your next council meeting.

To make matters worse, this happens every Saturday after 11 a.m. and weekdays as well.

Whomever approved all those development permits north of Villeneuve Road, without having an adequate transportation corridor(s) in place, should be fired. There is only one way in/out of St. Albert north, south, east and west, which is a catastrophic event waiting to happen.

Please, please, pretty please, build a ring road so people don’t have to drive through this disgusting mess.

Since that won’t happen in my grandchildren’s lifetime, I am stuck with your mess!
