Today it took my breath away to read that the St. Albert RCMP may need up to 10 additional officers to police in our community with the legalization of marijuana. I also read how yes, the RCMP should be more transparent.
Now with me just having read these and taking the information in I have to ask Insp. Pam Robinson why you may need 10 more members when I observed the following today? My husband and I went for breakfast at the A&W near Costco. We arrived today (Jan. 30 at 8:45 a.m.) and noted two RCMP cars parked there and for some reason both cars were left running. What a waste of natural resources.
As we received our breakfast order a gold unmarked police car pulled up and two more officers walked in at 9 a.m. Yes, they too had left their car running. Then another SUV RCMP police car arrived at 9:20 a.m. and another officer entered A&W. You all guessed it – the SUV police car was left running. My husband and I left the A&W at 9:53 a.m. and all the RCMP officers were still inside having the longest coffee break I have ever witnessed. Yes with all those police cars were still running – such a tremendous waste of natural resources and carbon in the environment. With that long of a morning coffee break it shows us why Insp. Robinson says our community may possibly need 10 more officers.
