Recently I had a brief conversation with a current member of City Council. I asked the councillor their thoughts on the library petition.
This member of council complained about the petition trying to liken it to Ray Gibbon Drive, insisting that they were the same matter, and yet there was no petition against it.
The trouble with this line of thought is that Ray Gibbon is necessary infrastructure that council is expressly responsible and accountable to us taxpayers for.
This is why the library project should be decided by those that pay for it; us taxpayers.
