Again, a letter from Alan Spiller in Saturday’s paper (St. Albert Gazette, Your Views, Oct. 20) spouting nonsense about the past Alberta PC governments.
You are a banker, Mr. Spiller? What do you think of the massive debt the NDP has run up in a few short years? Ah, no mention of that.
When I see someone compare us to the Nordic countries, it makes my tummy ache. Do you realize how rich this province would be without equalization payments? A banker would just gloss over these numbers (half a trillion and counting) I suppose.
Did you also forget how when one of those Conservative thieves like Stelmach, who tried to raise royalties and “get our fair share,” ended up pushing companies into Saskatchewan and the States? Kenney and other UCP are in it for the same reasons as Notley, for the pay and for their careers.
They each have their ideologies and want what’s best for Alberta, but one will work long term and the other won’t. The “financial mess” was started by the NDP, sorry but Kenney will have to get us out of this mess. Or we could be like Venezuela (my turn to compare socialist countries now). How’s that working out for them?
