As I scanned though the Gazette the other day on International Women's Day, I was some what dismayed. On almost every page was recognition of a career woman. Although, when each of those women leave their job, as is the case with men, they will be replaced as if they had never been there.
Then I though of the countless women who make a difference in the world. Mothers. But they received no recognition. They mold the future by raising the leaders of tomorrow. While our children were young and still at home, people used to ask me if my wife worked. I would always answer "we have five kids, you bet she works."
I don't believe that women were created to do the work men do. They were created to do the work men can't do and receive little recognition for it. Thank goodness for those women who raise the children in the world to be honest, moral and hard-working good citizens. Bring on Mother's Day and forget International Women's Day.
