Council tops up salaries!

How nice for them. Such a shame that they are having the advantage of not having one-third of their salaries tax exempt being taken away. I would think that at least 95 per cent of working people have never had that opportunity afforded to them.

Council, as per usual, has decided to up what they make to compensate for this loss.

Wonder if we, the taxpayers, can have one-third of our property taxes exempt from having to be paid.

What an amazing system where the mayor and council can do these things with “our” money. Another example where the people who are in charge of this city feel they can do whatever they like with no repercussions.

Most of us have to make do with less and less each year as the economy still crumbles in Alberta. Having a seat on council in St. Albert makes one “special” and exempt from having to make do with what they get as they have the power to increase their wages any time they choose.

Of course this will reflect in property tax increases to cover this. Of course they will have the same take-home pay with the increase they have afforded themselves.

With the waste of money so evident with this council (once again), it is a slap in the face to the taxpayers what they have done with this increase for themselves.
