Money for house could help other families

Page three of the March 2 Gazette — city buys a bungalow that it did not even end up needing for $1.9 million and it is valued at $353,000. Now it is going to rent it out to cover costs of maintaining the site at $9,800 per year.

Now it is going to rent it out to cover costs of maintaining the site at $9,800 per year. Does anyone else who owns a three-hectare parcel require almost $10,000 per year to maintain the land?

I am not against finding affordable housing for low income but if they used the $1.9 million for affordable housing, I bet they could help more than one family and be able to cover the $600,000 shortfall in snow removal budget.
