Re: ‘Waste discussion proves to be a waste of time,’ March 23 Gazette:

Andy Michaelson, through innuendo and his dislike for a hard-working group of taxpayers who do not support all his arts buddies, throws out erroneous conclusions in his column this past Wednesday. I suppose he had to find some way to try to trash the St. Albert Taxpayers’ Association (SATA) in his latest epistle. So, he takes the fact that I left council chambers when council broke for dinner to suggest I followed Coun. Cam MacKay out on his smoke break, presumably for some nefarious reason.

For the record, the only time I left the council chamber was during the dinner break and I went out to get a coffee from Tim Hortons. I waved to Coun. McKay on the terrace, where he was smoking, from the courtyard as I walked to my car. So his implication that I and SATA were meeting with Coun. McKay is totally in error. And, unlike Mr. Michaelson, who declined to return after the dinner break and did not attend the end of the council meeting, I stayed through the entire process and watched CUPE’s attempt at intimidation dwindle as our hard working folks went home to their dinners.
