A specific mental health treatment area in the new emergency room is brilliant. As anyone who has spent time in an emergency room awaiting psychiatric care or waiting with a person awaiting that care knows, the needs of the mentally ill and physically ill are vastly different and require unique approaches.
I applaud this decision, as I believe it will make a significant difference in treatment of mental illness.
