First, I would like to congratulate the St. Albert Mission U19 Team for winning the bronze medal at the Canadian Ringette Championships. They make me smile.
The first time I saw them play was against Ontario in their first playoff game. As I looked across the arena at the teams, I saw a tall, full bench of red against a blue team that was shorter and probably a full line short. This was a bit concerning given the win/loss record going in. Turns out there was no need to worry as the speed and determination of the Mission team prevailed. This was a truly amazing game to watch.
The second time I saw U19 Mission play was the bronze medal game against B.C. This game was of a different sort as they got down by a couple of goals and they spent quite some time on the penalty kill. Time seemed to be dwindling a bit when the same determination appeared as in the Ontario game. St. Albert then scored three unanswered goals against a very worthy opponent to win.
Again, I would like to congratulate the 2015 St. Albert U19 team for a job well done.
