Libraries help broaden the mind

In response to Norm Harley’s letter about an expansion of our library, I would have to ask if he understands its purpose. A library is part of the education of a nation’s citizens by allowing access for broadening the mind in a general way rather than training it in technical matters.

Perhaps Mr. Harley believes that all information is available on his cellphone and reading for pleasure is a waste of time. His point that an electronic reader can replace a library shows an appalling lack of knowledge.
