RCMP Insp. Warren Dosko — please do us all a favour and stop this city and the RCMP from getting a bigger black eye than we already have over the Dr. Jon Cooper snow-clearing incident.
Your officers may be right in respect of the letter of the law but no one will believe that two individuals kind enough to help clear snow off the sidewalk for the benefit of our seniors deserve to be fined in one case and arrested in another.
Having an outside officer come review this incident just tells us that no one in your whole station has any understanding of the term ‘public relations.’ In the past the police would work with the community and give warnings. I guess next we can expect you fining us for parking too far from the curb and not accepting the four-foot-high piles of snow as an excuse.
