Trim the dead wood on city council

It's concerning to hear calls to "clean house" in city hall. That would make entirely no sense. The behaviour of three councillors were cited as quite improper in the municipal inspection report by George Cuff.

It's concerning to hear calls to "clean house" in city hall. That would make entirely no sense. The behaviour of three councillors were cited as quite improper in the municipal inspection report by George Cuff. Those behaviours were later attributed to councillors Sheena Hughes, Cam MacKay and Bob Russell. With the election looming this is invaluable information for the voters of St. Albert to consider. Equally valuable to note for voters are councillors whose behaviours were not cited.  The behaviour of Councillor Wes Brodhead, councillor Tim Osborne (not seeking re-election) and councillor Cathy Heron were not at issue. Clearly Brodhead, Osborne and Heron conducted themselves in a professional manner in what was a toxic environment. I salute them for demonstrating how an elected official should act during what had to be a difficult and frustrating council term. Somehow they rose above the toxicity of their colleagues and behaved in a way we should have expected the entire council to embrace. You don't prune a tree with a chain saw. You trim the dead wood and the infected branches; keep the solid roots and healthy branches. I think Cathy Heron and Wes Brodhead are those solid roots. On Oct. 16 let's use the pruning shears not a chain saw. Jennifer Carlson, St. Albert
