Leave our 'small-town feel' alone

In case the mayor and councillors of St. Albert think that Bill Whitney and his associates are an anomaly, think again.

In case the mayor and councillors of St. Albert think that Bill Whitney and his associates are an anomaly, think again. Quite frankly I, and I'm sure many others, have no desire to see our wonderful "small town" community ruined by a 25-storey eyesore which will increase traffic, neighbourhood noise, and the beauty of our park and river system to an entirely unacceptable degree.

I'm sure that we'll be told that we had an opportunity to voice our concerns at one of those useless information sessions, usually held on a weeknight making it impossible for the majority of St. Albert residents to attend.

Each time our lovely city is nationally mentioned as one of the best small cities to live in Canada, the "small-town feel" is consistently mentioned. Before we build these monstrosities, which will permanently alter our community, halt the work and give the people of St. Albert a say. How about a plebiscite?

And for those who want St. Albert to become another grungy Whyte Avenue, here's a suggestion. Move to Edmonton, or Vancouver or Toronto and leave our award-winning city alone.
