To the City: Offer to pay Mr. Hennigar’s legal bills and do not spend another nickel of taxpayers’ money on additional legal fees.

To Mr. Hennigar: Accept the city’s offer to cover your legal bills but demand an extra $1 so you can smile, gloat and say you won. What we taxpayers care about is our tax dollars being wasted and you receiving your legal costs, while additional waste, would seem a fitting end to a ludicrous situation. You are not suing the city; you are suing me, my friends and neighbors, yourself and your friends and neighbors as well as every other property owner in St. Albert.

It’s time both parties put this nonsense to an end and move on already. There are one or two other important matters out there that we can focus our attention on.

To the City: Pay him the extra $1.
