SASS, is a St. Albert Seniors Slowpitch recreational group that gets seniors active in playing a fun, scrub, recreational format. Our aim is to encourage seniors who are not able to play at a competitive level because of disabilities or skill level. SASS aims for seniors who want to play ball at a more relaxed, fun and less organized manner.
This is our first season and we are increasing our membership every week as more seniors become aware of our organization. Everyone plays. We modify the rules for safety and fun. We are looking forward to our second season in the spring.
On behalf of SASS, I'd like to thank the following people and organizations for the help they provided in getting our group going: Mayor Nolan Crouse, Alyssa Tintinaglia, NABI; Roy Bedford, Daniele Podlubny, and Alex Dick, all of the City of St. Albert; Al Henry, View Office Technology; Paul Kane High School; Lorne Akins Junior High School; and St. Albert Seniors Association.
Your help and support was much appreciated.
John Mackenzie, St. Albert
