It's so easy to finger-point at the City of St. Albert for its alleged shortcomings and "idiotic" decisions, and I've done my fair share of it. So, it's time for two kudos.
First, kudos to Dean Schick, manager of transportation. In a time when politicians have tarnished the word "transparency," Mr. Schick's responsiveness and his willingness to share information are most impressive. Eldorado Drive continues to be Eldorado Speedway, but Mr. Schick gives me hope that the safety of children and seniors will take precedence over dragsters seeking a shortcut.
Second, kudos to Canadian Tree Care, whom the city contracted to remove more than a dozen trees behind three houses, including ours. What an experience to watch professional arborists do their job. Moreover, all of us appreciated their attention to cleaning up.
