Justin Trudeau should take action for Azer children

Thank you for your ongoing coverage and support for Alison Azer and her children.

Thank you for your ongoing coverage and support for Alison Azer and her children. However, I feel that the most recent article “How close is freedom for four abducted children?” was missing two essential words from the end of the headline. Alison Azer has worked tirelessly over the past eleven months since her children were abducted. Thousands of Canadians have shown their support at public events, writing letters and signing the petition. Nearly a year has passed, and what has our government done? MP Michael Cooper stood up in the House more than once to ask what the government is doing – and is told that it is a “priority.” If it is a priority, why was the RCMP request to work with their counterparts in Iran denied? If the file is on the prime minister’s desk, why does it sit there gathering dust? As a Canadian, as a mother, and as the former teacher of one of these beautiful children I am outraged and frustrated by the government’s lack of commitment and action. It has been nearly a year. How close is freedom for four abducted children, Justin Trudeau?
