Bob Russell should not be censured.
Well, I‘ve read the many complaining articles surrounding Mr. Bob Russell’s conduct and his approach to business, and I for one do not agree with any of the content of those articles and that’s my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion that’s what freedom of speech is all about.
Bob Russell is entitled to his opinion in or out of council, this is Canada and freedom of speech is still one of those perils we all have to enjoy. You may or may not agree with what is being said or done but unless you’re prepared to sit in the chair, you need to step back and keep your comments within as they are no better or worse than what you’re complaining about.
I for one, and I am entitled to my opinion as well as everyone else, agree with Mr. Russell and whole-heartedly welcome him to council and his mannerism was what was required to get council thinking again. The past rubber stamping of decisions made by council needed to curb as it was completely out of hand, lacking control and logic.
I honestly believe that Mr. Russell is doing a bang up job by adding experience and logic to this current sitting council, and I encourage Mr. Russell to stay the course and keep council working for this city.
