Help save SHAVA Bookstore

I'm aware that the Scotiabank will be leaving Grandin Park Plaza Nov. 6. This would leave only SHAVA (Sturgeon Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer Association) Bookstore in the little bit of mall that's left.

I can't imagine Amacon will continue to allow the store to operate rent and utility free as it has for so many years. It's my understanding that SHAVA has been looking for very low or no rent spaces here in St. Albert to no avail. As the St. Albert Gazette's many articles about SHAVA have shown, it has raised more than $2.5 million to fund equipment and services the hospital would not otherwise be able to afford. The bookstore on its own typically raises more than $60,000 annually for the hospital. This is done through the generosity of the citizens of St. Albert who donate books and through the dedicated team of SHAVA volunteers, including myself, who operate the bookstore.

Will someone please come forward with space for the bookstore? It would be such a loss to our city should it close.
