There’s been a lot of discussion lately with regards to harassment and racism. But harassment comes in many different forms.
On Tuesday, Oct. 30, I parked in parking for the disabled in front of the Dollar store in Village Landing. I didn't even get my door open before the passenger in the car next to me demanded to know if I was disabled.
That was none of her business. My doctor signed the form and I am legally entitled to that placard. My disability may not be immediately visible, but believe me it’s there. I have problems with both my feet from a lifetime of diabetes.
But that’s not the issue. The point is that people who have been granted placards get them approved from a medical professional. And the reason they’re prescribed is between the placard holder and their doctor. Not you.
So next time maybe ask someone a question and not demand an answer. I don’t owe you any explanations. Nor does anyone else who has a disabled placard.
