I was very pleased to see Jeff Hansen receive the Bell Memorial Award as an inductee into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. As the former head coach of the St. Albert Storm High School Football Team and later the Bellerose Bulldogs Senior Football Team and also as a Bellerose basketball coach, I always appreciated his fair and honest coverage in the St. Albert Gazette.
More importantly, through his dedication to all athletics in St. Albert, Jeff has contributed significantly to the development of athletes and the sports in which they participate. I can't think of a more deserving recipient of this award.
St. Albert is more of a community because of what Jeff does and has done over the last 25 years. He has journalistic integrity and personal integrity, and that matters in this world. My heartfelt congratulations.
