Fast food lackey

The article about the fast food industry feeling the pinch because of the lack of foreign workers is a perfect example of a corporate/government alliance.

The “Tag Team" of these two entities of greed and profitability at the expense of dignity to working Canadians is why corporations have record profits and government officials are lackeys! Our MP, Brent Rathgeber, has repeatedly backed the fast food industry. Mr. Rathgeber, have you visited the social studies class in Morinville that gave their side of the treatment they received from the restaurants in St. Albert?

An article that was in the Gazette last year told of students’ hours reduced, or of them being passed over for promotion in favour of foreign workers.

Restaurants in St Albert! You, sir, are a representative of all people in this region, not just corporations. As someone who has worked in the fast food industry, I understand the hard work and crappy hours these workers have to endure.

It is time to start paying the workers for their work. Fast food corporations make billions. I bet more money is spent on advertising (minions) than on the people that actually make those billions – the workers. We live in a world right now where certain areas of society – government/corporations – have a good thing going and don't want it to change. They want to raise taxes and lower the wages so profits and pensions and government perks can keep on flowing.

Turn off the tap! In conclusion, while they are complaining about labour shortages there are three or four new fast food restaurants opening up in the newly developed Costco area. Enough said!
